CeCe Winans Invites Fans to a 20-Day Prayer Challenge Ahead of Easter

Gospel legend CeCe Winans has launched a 20-day prayer challenge leading up to Easter, inviting followers and fellow artists to join her in daily prayer. In a message shared on social media, Winans described feeling a deep concern for the world and for the many challenges people are facing. She urged people to come together and seek God through focused daily prayer.

“My heart has been really heavy for our world and everything that’s happening around us,” Winans said in the video. “I truly believe that now is the time that we need to come together to seek the Lord.”

The challenge is structured as a short, daily practice. Each day for twenty days, Winans will post a brief video that highlights a specific prayer focus—often centered on a scripture—and lead a short prayer based on that passage. Her approach emphasizes praying the Word of God to align participants’ prayers with God’s heart and purpose.

“So, over the next twenty days leading up to Easter I want to invite you to join me in praying each day and every day,” she explained. “I’ll be sharing a short video with a prayer focus, really probably a scripture and just pray over that scripture. Because when we pray the word of God it ensures that we’re always praying the heart of God. And that’s what we need right now so desperately. So, I hope you’ll take a few moments to pray along with me for our world, for our communities and for one another.”

Winans encouraged not only her fans but also other artists and performers to take part. She expressed a desire for unity across communities and ministries, asking participants to bring their concerns before God with faith that He hears and acts. “My prayer is that we can come together in unity and pray the will of God and bring these things before our Heavenly Father, trusting that He hears us and that He is still at work,” she said.

The campaign reflects Winans’ consistent focus on faith-driven ministry. Last year she marked the Easter season by appearing on AMERICAN IDOL’s “Songs of Faith” episode, where she performed “Come Jesus Come” with American Idol alum Roman Collins. Reflecting on that performance, Winans described it as an honor to share a message of hope through music, calling the song a reminder that help is on the way amid life’s challenges.

Beyond the prayer challenge and special televised performances, Winans is preparing for a summer tour titled COME WORSHIP! She announced that Charity Gayle, Red Worship, and Terrian will join her on the road. In announcing the tour she emphasized hospitality and encouragement, saying her hope is that people of all ages will feel welcomed and reminded that when communities lift up the name of Jesus, He meets them where they are.

“I could not be more excited that Charity Gayle, Red Worship, and Terrian will be joining me on the COME WORSHIP! Tour,” Winans said. “My prayer for this journey is that people of all ages feel welcomed and encouraged, and are reminded that when we lift up the name of Jesus, he meets us right where we are. I pray that communities will gather together, put aside our differences and worship together.”

Whether through music or prayer, Winans continues to prioritize sharing her faith and creating spaces for collective spiritual engagement. The 20-day prayer challenge offers a simple, accessible way for individuals and families to pause each day, reflect on scripture, and pray for their communities and the broader world as Easter approaches.
