Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and Rogers today announced a new three-year agreement that extends Rogers’ role as the Festival’s official Presenting Partner and sponsor of the TIFF People’s Choice Award through 2027. The expanded partnership builds on the strong momentum from TIFF ’24, which drew a record-breaking 700,000 attendees and hosted hundreds of filmmakers and international stars. The 50th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival, presented by Rogers, will run from September 4 to 14, 2025.
Continuing a Strategic Collaboration
This multi-year renewal reinforces a long-standing collaboration between a major Canadian media company and one of the world’s most influential film festivals. TIFF’s leadership and Rogers emphasized a shared commitment to elevating Canadian storytelling, supporting filmmakers, and presenting world-class cinema to audiences at home and abroad. The renewed agreement secures Rogers’ presence at the Festival through 2027 and underscores the importance of corporate partnership in sustaining large-scale cultural events.
Leadership Statements
“We are excited to continue our partnership with Rogers through 2027, building on the terrific momentum we’ve created together,” said Cameron Bailey, CEO of TIFF. He highlighted the Festival’s global reach and the shared goal of amplifying Canadian stories on an international stage as central to the renewed collaboration.
Tony Staffieri, CEO of Rogers, commented on the company’s commitment to film and entertainment: “We are committed to supporting world-class film and cinema and bringing the best in entertainment to Canadians. We look forward to celebrating TIFF’s 50th edition this year and to continuing a successful multi-year partnership.”
Programming and Production Collaboration
As part of the expansion, TIFF and Rogers will develop original content together through TIFF’s in-house Studio 9 production team. This includes a new original content series produced in collaboration with Studio 9, plus a special television program commemorating TIFF’s 50th edition that will be produced by Rogers and aired exclusively on Citytv. These projects aim to capture Festival highlights, profiles of filmmakers and talent, and curated moments that bring TIFF’s programming to a wider national audience.
Audience and Fan Engagement
Rogers customers will continue to receive enhanced access and experiences connected to the Festival, including VIP red carpet opportunities through the Rogers Beyond the Seat program. These experiential benefits are designed to deepen fan engagement and offer unique ways for audiences to participate in Festival events, screenings, and celebrations.

What This Means for Canadian Cinema
The renewed partnership is significant for the local film industry. By securing long-term support from a major corporate partner, TIFF strengthens its capacity to present an ambitious slate of films, fund special programming, and showcase Canadian talent alongside international premieres. The People’s Choice Award, which Rogers will continue to present through 2027, remains one of the Festival’s highest-profile audience honors and often highlights films that go on to achieve awards-season recognition.
Looking Ahead to TIFF’s 50th Anniversary
TIFF’s 50th edition marks a major milestone and will feature celebratory programming and events throughout the year. Organizers have signalled that additional announcements will follow, promising further details on programming, special tributes, and partnerships in the lead-up to the September festival dates. With Rogers’ renewed support, TIFF aims to deliver a commemorative edition that honors the Festival’s legacy while spotlighting new voices and cinematic innovation.
The three-year agreement between TIFF and Rogers reinforces a shared commitment to cinema, cultural programming, and audience engagement. As the Festival approaches its golden anniversary, the partnership aims to amplify the reach and impact of TIFF’s programming across Canada and beyond.
